Oregon Learners Permit Prep Class

Let the Library help you pass your learners permit test. Mike Zinno, State Certified Instructor, will help learners navigate the driver’s manual during this one-day session.  Bring a lunch and be ready to learn. The class will be July 21 from 9 a.m. -3 p.m.

Bring your lunch and join Oregon Coast Music Festival's Associate/Pops Conductor Adam Stern for a lively presentation about some of this year's orchestra selections. Stern has been leading the Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra since 2003.  He joined OCMA in 2016.

Big Rig Show and Tell in July

Big Rig Show and Tell Event at Library

The ever-popular summer program Big Rig Show and Tell will take place at 2 p.m. on July 27. Vehicles from the Coos Bay Fire Department, Coos Bay Police Department, Coos Bay Roads Department, and many community partners will be on display for kids and adults to explore.  The event will take place in the Bennett Street parking lot on the south side of the Library.

Calling All Designing Kids

Build a shelter, design a boat, weave a shoe, or invent a fishing tool at the Coos Bay Public Library on August 3 at 2 p,m.

Try out your own engineering skills while discovering technologies designed by Oregon’s first engineers. Provided by University of Oregon's Museum of Natural and Cultural History.

Friends of the Library Hosts August Book Sale

Coos Bay Public Library

Friends of the Library Book Sale to be held on August 5-6. This month’s sale includes paperbacks, hardbacks, videos and more.

You can peruse the selections on Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday 12 p.m.-4 p.m. All proceeds from the sale directly fund library programming.

Looking Forward to Eclipse Event

The Total Solar Eclipse is coming to Oregon. You are invited to watch the Eclipse episodes of The Universe on August 7, 2017 at 7 p.m .at the Coos Bay Library to prepare for the viewing.  A limited number of free viewing glasses will be available at the program.

Armchair Adventures Journeys to Israel

Travel with the library to Israel on August 8 at 2 p.m. Israel The Royal Tour is a non-stop, groundbreaking adventure taking you on a historic journey throughout Israel, the intersection of the World's three great religions. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Peter Greenberg explore Israel as you’ve never seen it before, sharing perspectives through the eyes of its leader. Greenberg also sits down with the Prime Minister for a candid and unrehearsed discussion about the ever-changing state of affairs in the Middle East.
