New 911 Dispatcher Begins in Coos Bay October 04, 2017

This Monday, October 2, 2017 was Samantha Mattarolo’s first day with the Coos Bay Police Department as a 911 Dispatcher. Mattarolo will start her five to six-month training process which will prepare her to handle the thousands of calls that come into the Coos Bay Police Department dispatch center annually. Mattarolo originally applied with the Coos Bay Police Department in December of 2016 and quickly rose to the top during that process. During the consolidation talks, Mattarolo was placed on an eligibility list and when a position became available she accepted the challenge. Mattarolo grew up in the Coos Bay/North Bend area and graduated from North Bend High School. Over the years, Samantha had worked for several local businesses in the area and was most recently employed by First Call Resolution (FCR).

Mattarolo became interested in dispatching after learning about the job opening from a current Coos Bay Police Department 911 Dispatcher. She loves spending time with her family and makes them her first priority. Mattarolo also enjoys spending time at the gym with her friends and is involved in kickboxing and working out. Mattarolo ran the Prefontaine Memorial Run for the first time this year, which was a huge personal goal.

Mattarolo's significant other was just recently hired as a Police Officer with the North Bend Police Department, so they both will be embarking on new endeavors and exciting careers.  We welcome Mattarolo into the Coos Bay Police Department Family and look forward to watching her serve her community as a 911 dispatcher.
