Officer Meier Accepts Position in Eugene August 14, 2019

Recently, Officer Ty Meier announced that he has accepted a position with the City of Eugene as a Police Officer. Meier began his career with the Coos Bay Police Department June 1, 2010, as a full-time patrol officer. While employed with the Police Department Officer, Meier has held positions as a Patrol Officer, Motorcycle Officer, Reserve Officer Coordinator, ORPAT Instructor, and Field Training Officer.

Officer Meier was active in the Coos Bay Police Officers Association holding the positions of President and Vice President for several years. He was very instrumental in planning the many CBPOA/Community involvement events to include the CBPOA sponsored Christmas Movie and gift giveaways held at the Egyptian Theater.

Meier, his wife Deb, and Scout their dog will be missed at the Coos Bay Police Department. We want to wish the Meier’s the best in their move and Officer Meier success in his employment with the Eugene Police Department.

With Officer Meier’s resignation, the Police Department has already interviewed applicants and offered a position to a current Coos Bay Police Reserve Officer, who is completing his final steps in the hiring process. This new officer is expected to start prior to the end of August.
