Pay It Forward March 26, 2020

As we all are tasked with doing our part to combat this virus by following Governor Kate Brown’s 'Stay Home, Stay Healthy' Executive Order, there are some among us who must continue on with their daily professional responsibilities; our First Responders. These dedicated professionals continue their efforts to ensure the safety of our community. The City of Coos Bay’s Police and Fire departments continue to provide services to our community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week while adapting to the challenges of the COVID-19 virus. Recently, as a way to show appreciation for the First Responders' efforts in our community, Restaurant O in downtown Coos Bay started a “Pay it Forward” program. Under this program, meals are prepared for on-duty First Responder staff with citizens able to contribute tax-deductible funds to cover the meal costs. A generous donor, who wished to remain anonymous, has provided enough funds to cover the costs of on-duty First Responders for both the cities of Coos Bay and North Bend starting March 24 through April 12.

For more information and to participate in the “Pay it Forward” program, please contact Master Chef Eoghain O’Neill, owner of Restaurant O, 260 South Broadway, Coos Bay, 541-435-5849.
