Vrooman joins the Coos Bay Police Department after serving the citizens of Paradise and Oroville, California where he worked as a police officer for the last 11 years. He is certified as a police officer through the California POST Academy and will attend a modified two-week Oregon Law refresher academy at the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training.

Vrooman, his wife Kristina and their three children have recently moved to the Coos Bay Area where they joined other family members. Vrooman said he and his family look forward to exploring what all the Bay Area has to offer as well as much cooler summers then they experienced in Northern California.
