Street Upgrades Look Towards Urban Renewal Amendments August 01, 2018
The City is working through the process to amend the Empire Urban Renewal Plan to undertake several capital street improvement projects in the Empire Urban Renewal District. This past Tuesday, the Urban Renewal Agency held a Town Hall meeting at the Dolphin Theater where the Empire Urban Renewal Plan Amendment process was discussed along with an unveiling of the potential street improvement projects.
The Council is hoping to use some of the Urban Renewal funds as a tool to help address much-needed street upgrades in the Urban Renewal Districts which will allow the City to reallocate the limited amount of state gas tax funds we receive for other needed street maintenance.
For more information on the Plan Amendment Process and which streets have been identified within the Empire Urban Renewal District go to the online Agenda Staff Report document.
