Superstar Effort During 2017 Bus Jam Event December 06, 2017

The 2017 K-Dock Radio/Rotary Bus Jam event had a couple of groups who really came through in a big way for the annual “Load the Bus, Fill the Need” donation drive held last Saturday, Dec. 2.

Mortenson Construction staff at the new Coos Bay Wastewater Treatment Plant jumped all in with the Bus Jam this year. The team members worked together to collect 309 pairs of socks for the community. The company also offered to forward their collections from a separate canned food drive the staff had been organizing on their own, which would be winding down on Dec. 8. Bus Jam volunteers were thrilled with the delivery of warm socks and the activities the crew put forth in support of the community.

Additionally, Coos Bay Volunteer Firefighters brought two checks totaling $500 in support of the Bus Jam event. Bus Jam organizers will make certain the funds will be used to help fill any gaps for those families struggling to provide food and gifts for their children this holiday,
