Welcome to New CBPD 9-1-1 Dispatcher June 11, 2021

On Monday June 1, 2021, Cheri Bennett started as a 911 Dispatcher for the Coos Bay Police Department.    
 
Bennett was born and raised in the Coos Bay / North Bend area and is a proud graduate of Marshfield High School. Further, Bennett has an Associates’ Degree from Southwestern Oregon Community College. She was most recently employed by Bay Cities Ambulance as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher and had worked there since 2015.
 
Bennett is married and has three children. Bennett enjoys camping and spending time with her family. 

Bennett has been assigned to a Coos Bay Police Department Dispatch Field Training Officer (FTO) where she will begin learning the necessary skills required to be a successful Coos Bay Police Department 911 Dispatcher. In August 2021, she will attend the dispatch academy in Salem, Oregon at the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST).
